Senate Republicans want to make cuts somewhere else because they say that is the only way Gov. Walker will support a gas tax increase. In the midst of this debate, the roads are crumbling away. I suppose my husband and I could have wasted time bickering. Should we fix our foundation? Can we afford it? Should we just put it off? But our houses foundation had a huge crack, which would eventually basement waterproofing wreck our basement and destroy the value of our home. I would like to explain to politicians how real people deal with major repairs. My husband and I knew major excavation and repair to the foundation with a lifetime guarantee would solve the problem forever. Anything else was a band-aid approach that would eventually cost even more.
